Introduction
The Thermal and Energy Systems chair is under the School of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering where the MSc program is governed and managed by the chair head in collaboration with the quality assurance coordinator of the chair. Collaborative international research and project works under the chair are:
- 1. Strengthening Mobility and Promoting Regional Integration of Engineering Education in Africa / SPREE– The project has funded by Intra-Africa scheme, European commission and is led by Mekelle University has a total cost of 1,392,975 euros.
- 2. Center of Excellence in Renewable Energy with focus on Wind and Solar Energy (CoE-in-RE-WiSE)– Funding for this project totaling 2.35 million euros provided by KfW Germany via the Ministry of Education.
- 3. Community Energy and Sustainable Energy Transitions in Ethiopia, Malawi and Mozambique (CESET)– CESET project is a 3-year collaborative multi-institutional research partnership funded by the Global Challenges Research Fund
- 4. The EnPe I– The project has a total cost of 8,000,000NOK and is supported by the Norwegian government.
- 5. The EnPe-II – The project, which has a total budget of about 12,000,000 NoK (of which the institute shares 2,800,000 NoK), is supported by the Norwegian government
